A MOBILE telephone company is offering high speed broadband for more than 4,600 homes in North Yorkshire.

EE, part of BT Group, is aiming its new 4G home broadband solution at rural areas where the current broadband speed is under 10 Mbps.

It claims tests of the system in the northern fells of Cumbria have produced speeds of more than 100 Mbps and is offering professional installation.

The system combines a home router with a powerful external antenna and is designed specifically for rural communities without fixed line broadband access or slow fixed line broadband speeds.
