RYEDALE Book Festival and Blackthorn Press have launched a short story competition.
There are prizes totalling £500 and the top 10 stories will be published by the Blackthorn Press.
Sarah Tyson, festival director, said: “We are delighted to be launching this short story competition with Blackthorn Press.
"An important part of our work is to encourage anyone to have a go at writing and entering a short story competition is a good way to start and develop.”
Alan Avery, Blackthorn Press proprietor, said: “The competition is not only a way to encourage new and established writers to explore the short story, but is way of discovering new writing talent that Blackthorn Press will continue to develop and promote.”
The competition opened last week and closes on Saturday, March 31.
