CHILDREN’S author Sue Ellis will be reading from her new book, Proud Patrick Peacock and Other Stories, at York Explore Library next Saturday from 3pm-4pm.

She will also hold a book signing at Waterstones in Coney Street on Tuesday, February 13 from 1pm-3pm.

Sue says: “My books are talking about emotions and how you deal with them and ‘being the best version of yourself’ you can be.”

She added: “I have been into n schools across York and North Yorkshire discussing my stories.

“The pupils are always wonderful to work with as they understand how important it is for us all to play our part in making the world a better place.

“So making them laugh with my stories and teaching them about my quirky birds helps them to articulate what we need to help us be kinder, better people.”

Sue said she was also passionate about encouraging families to continue to read stories with their children. “The skills you encourage will have benefits for a lifetime.”
