BUSINESSES across the Selby district can access expert help in a bid to expand their reach.

Selby District Council is promoting the Ad:Venture business growth programme in Selby, Tadcaster and Sherburn in Elmet.

This is aimed at supporting start-ups and growing young businesses in the Leeds City Region.

Craig Atkin, who is from Ad:Venture, said: “It can be difficult for new and growing businesses to understand the complex landscape of business support and to know where to go.

"I’m here to help businesses navigate this landscape, saving them time and resources and setting them on the path to success.”

Free events will be held in Selby as part of the initiative, including a Planning for Growth event on Wednesday, January 24, and a meeting on Tuesday, February 13 to teach businesses about financing and options available.

Selby District Council leader Mark Crane said: “Offering this support is a practical way in which the district council can work with others to give pragmatic help to businesses.

"We’ve put in place significant new investment to help drive growth and – ultimately – to support jobs and opportunities for people living and working in the area.”

Both events will be held at the Selby District Council offices on Doncaster Road.

Places can be booked online at ad-venture.org.uk/events.
