PRESS readers have voted for a winning window in York’s huge Living Advent Calendar - Books for Amnesty in Goodramgate.
The stunning Christmas tree-shaped pile of books with angels and doves made from recycled book pages, captured the hearts of voters.
Shop manager John McKay said volunteer Trish Odell is the creative genius behind the display.
“Trish’s window is fantastic," he said. "We wanted to show that we use all the books in some way and we need them.
“Thanks so much to the Press readers for voting for us; there were so many good windows to choose from.”
The event, co-ordinated by YorkBID with Make It York, saw 25 of the city's businesses compete to be voted best Living Advent Calendar window, with entries pictured in the Press in the weeks before Christmas. The shop won £1,000, to be donated to the shop’s charity Amnesty International.
