Volunteers will be using traditional skills to protect part of a York nature area on Sunday.
Friends of Rawcliffe Meadows will be laying an eastern hedge alongside Blue Beck Copse.
Expert Don Davies will be advising them on the traditional technique which helps provide cover for birds and other wildlife.
The copse and hedge, which lie in the north part of the nature site between the River Ouse and Shipton Road, were planted by volunteers more than 17 years ago.
Volunteers will start the work at 10.30am and expect to finish it the same day. They advise anyone joining them to wear wellies.
