YORK College students will benefit from the national success of one of their predecessors.
William Ellis, who was a bench joinery apprentice at the college won the Screwfix Trade Apprentice 2017 title.
His success earned him £10,000 plus equipment, and his former college £2,000 worth of vouchers which will be spent on upgrading drills at its construction and skills centre.
William had to complete a series of tasks against nine other finalists at Google HQ in London to win the title. He is now a partner in his father’s busines in Scarborough.
