RETIREES and staff at a retirement living development in North Yorkshire have been working tirelessly to pack more than 100 shoeboxes for needy children around the world.
Alder View Court in Scarborough's Newby Farm Road has taken part in Operation Christmas Child, an initiative run by Samaritans Purse.
The project encourages people to fill a shoe box with a range of gifts which will then be sent to children who live in countries outside of the UK which have been affected by war, poverty or natural disaster.
Gifts from Alder View Court included toys, colouring pencils, and essentials like scarves and hats.
