SIGHT Support Ryedale has relocated to Norton Hive Library and Community Hub.

The charity, which supports visually impaired people in the Ryedale, was previously based in Yorkersgate, Malton.

Nicole Hingley, activities and administration co-ordinator, said: “One of the main reasons we have moved into one of the newly-refurbished offices at Norton Hive Library is so that we can be much more part of the local community.

“Norton Hive is the ideal place as it a community building with some wonderful plans to build on its success.

"The new office also provides us with better accessibility for our members, with level access to the office and easy means of reaching us by public transport or on foot.”

To celebrate the move of offices, Sight Support Ryedale has produced a 2018 calendar featuring the assistance dogs owned by members of the charity.

All proceeds will go to providing support and activities for visually impaired people living in Ryedale. Priced at £5 each, the calendars are available from Sight Support and Norton Hive in Commercial Street.

Nicole said: “We hope that being in a public place, more people who would benefit from our services will find, and contact us.

"We would also love to hear from people who would like to volunteers with us.”

The Sight Support Office is open Monday to Friday, from 9.30am to 12.30pm, with afternoons spent delivering many of the activities such as technology group, walking and gently aerobics, social groups, shopping trips and excursions.
