A POP-UP Christmas shop in the heart of the city centre has been opened by a cancer charity.

York Conservation Trust and their agents, Barry Crux & Co, have helped York Against Cancer set up the shop in Sir Thomas Herbert's House, in Pavement.

“It was perfect for York Against Cancer,” said Philip Thake, chief executive of York Conservation Trust.

“You couldn’t get a better position, right opposite Marks & Spencer.

“We’ve found a number of charity shops for York Against Cancer over the years, and this one could be the best yet,” added Rosie Crux.

"It looks amazing."

Julie Russell, general manager said the charity could not thank Philip and Rosie enough for their kindness.

She said: "This is a fabulous shop and it’s already paying dividends – we opened last weekend and within the first two days we had already taken £1,100, which is fantastic."

The pop-up shop sells only brand-new goods from ranges including Emma Bridgewater, Rachel Ellen and Emma Ball, and a great range of greetings cards including YAC’s famous York scenes.

The shop is open from Wednesday to Saturday, from 10am to 5.30pm and Sunday from 11am to 4pm until Thursday, December 21.
