DESPITE leading 1-0 at the break, Tadcaster Albion lost 3-1 at Evo-Stik Division One North leaders Bamber Bridge, who thus maintained their unbeaten home record.

Brewers boss Michael Morton made one change from the midweek defeat over Ossett Town as Conor Sellars came back in place of Jason Mycoe.

On a chilly afternoon, the home side kept Albion penned in their half but struggled to carve them open.

The weather was a talking point halfway through the first half due to a heavy shower before a glorious rainbow appeared and the sunshine returned.

The closest Albion came to a goal in the opening half-hour was from a teasing Lawrance Hunter cross which Corner was close to sliding onto.

But their goal came out of the blue.

It started with a brilliant 60-yard switch from Josh Barrett to Josh Greening on the right.

Greening then cut back onto his left foot before curling the ball onto the head of Tom Corner, who was originally denied by Lloyd Rigby.

Aiden Savory couldn't bundle the ball over the line but it popped back out to Corner, who prodded into the net.

Morton's message at the break was about still having that lead after an hour, but this plan soon went out the window as the home side were in front nine five minutes after the interval.

Firstly Chris Marlow's luscious left-footed cross was powerfully headed into the back of the net by Brad Carsley four minutes in.

Five minutes later, the table-toppers were in front, but this goal was criminal from Tadcaster's point of view.

Corner held the ball up on halfway before coming inside and look around for options, only to pass it straight to Alistair Waddecar, who shifted the ball quickly to Carsley, whose deflected shot went past Michael Ingham.

The Brewers continued to fight hard, and Savory's shot was well held from a tight angle before Corner blasted narrowly over.

But the game was effectively over in the 73rd minute as Brig saved their best until last.

Regan Linney showed brilliantly intricate footwork to manoeuvre away from two players on the edge of the box and send in an unstoppable shot.

However, the match could easily have finished 3-3 as Tad threw away two glorious chances in the final minutes.

The first fell to Greening as Ingham's goal kick set him up one on one against Rigby, who he failed to beat.

In stoppage time, Adam Baker crossed perfectly for Barrett at the back post, who headed over from three yards.
