PROSECUTORS have dropped a case against a man alleged to have obstructed the highway near the Third Energy gas fracking site at Kirby Misperton.
A 53-year-old man was charged to appear before York Magistrates' Court.
But on the day the case was listed, he did not attend and the Crown Prosecution Service said it had discontinued the case on the grounds it was not in the public interest to proceed. He was alleged to have committed the offence on September 20 on Habton Road, Kirby Misperton. Eleven anti-fracking protestors have appeared before the court since and denied all charges against them.
