A LINE dancing pensioner has raised £3,000 for a life-saving charity.
Margaret Clare, from the Hot Tomales club at Eggborough Power Station, raised £3,000 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance in the last year.
Margaret, 72, has raised money for various charities in the last 15 years - including the special care baby unit at York Hospital, British Heart Foundation and cancer charities - by making celebration and greetings cards, and holding raffles and coffee mornings at her home in Rawcliffe, near Goole.
After a serious accident in North Yorkshire involving a member of her line dancing club, she has decided to make YAA her permanent charity.
She said: "Without the Yorkshire Air Ambulance he would most likely have lost his life, and without my friends, who support me in raising the money, it would be impossible to raise this amount."
