THE Enemy have been tipped as one of the breakthrough bands of 2007, and on the basis of their debut offering, it's not hard to see why.
We'll Live And Die In These Towns is a spiky, fast-paced, guitar-fuelled offering, heavily influenced by The Jam with echoes of The Clash and hints of Hard Fi.
The songs are delivered with grit, and singer Tom Clarke sounds very much like a young Weller, delivering the lyrics with passion and urgency, driven on by belting guitar riffs and steady rhythms, reflecting issues affecting the youth of today.
The title track is a stand-out tune. From the opening bars, with its mournful brass breaking into a guitar frenzy, it sticks in your head in much the same way as the Kaiser's I Predict A Riot, and is sure to be an anthem of the summer.
