AT 6.55am on Tuesday September 26, traffic was queuing from Blossom Street to Holgate Bridge.
Why? Because the lights at the Blossom Street junction are programmed to only let five cars through at a time. As a result of this any time between 7am and 9.15am the traffic is queuing up Acomb Road as far as Grantham Drive and up Poppleton Road as far as Grantham Drive.
If, in the future, the access road into York Central goes from Holgate Road, I dread to think what the traffic chaos will be like.
Before any decision is made, the so-called traffic planners on City of York Council and our local councillors should spend some time in the area monitoring the traffic flow, particularly in the area near The Fox public house where traffic comes to a standstill due to the junction being blocked by cars not able to go anywhere.
