THE CITY council is thinking about selling off part of Bootham Row car park to help developers working on a historic building nearby.
Next week the council executive will be asked to approve the sale of a strip of land behind the Bootham Tavern for £155,000.
At the moment the land has enough space for five parking spaces and motorcycle parking, which bring in around £7,000 a year. Selling it would help the owners of 27 Bootham - currently an empty shop with flats above - to demolish a single storey extension at the back of their building, and would provide better access to the new homes on the site.
