YOU should always follow doctors’ orders, especially Dr Mike Heyworth (Letters, September 4).
All the many customers of the Carlton Tavern in Acomb should get in touch with the York city planners ASAP to put a halt to the madness of demolishing a beautiful Victorian building for no reason.
If you stand by and don’t challenge this folly you have no right to moan when the bulldozers move in because that will be too late.
I have seen many letters in The Press to save the Carlton and none to knock it down.
Planners take note of the public for once and listen to the good doctor.
Holgate and Acomb, plus all our councillors, also take note or no historic building in our lovely city will be safe.
