DRIVERS who have lost their jobs following the liquidation of a North Yorkshire coach company have been urged to contact First York.
Villagers between York, Selby and Tadcaster were left stranded after Utopia Coaches, based in Sherburn-in-Elmet, took to social media to announce services would not run from Thursday.
First York has today issued a statement announcing they will look to help Utopia drivers find work.
It read: "Following the news that drivers from local bus operator Utopia have been made redundant, First York is reminding bus drivers that it is always open to receiving new applications to join the team.
"Utopia has today served its drivers with redundancy letters, but First York will fast-track applications from drivers, to ensure they are not out of work for a long period of time."
