DAREDEVIL army stunt riders were the main attraction at a military open day in York.

The riders from the White Helmet Display Team formed human pyramids and leapt through hoops of fire for visitors at the Army In Yorkshire Festival at Imphal Barracks in Fulford Road in York.

Other attractions included the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, a sky-diving display, military bands, Gurkha and Highland dancing as well as military re-enactments. There was plenty for the children to get involved with, including bouncy castles and a ball pool.

Adults could look around tanks and other military vehicles, tackle an aerial slide, attempt an army climbing wall and see all the hi-tech vehicles and equipment. The action continued into the evening with a Bands In Barracks concert.
