A TEAM of people are set to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in relay form.

Wayne and Rosemarie Brannan, of Carrs Meadow, Escrick, are set to undertake the walk in aid of the Cookridge Cancer Care Unit, in Leeds, after Rosemarie was successfully treated there and here in York for breast cancer.

A total of 21 people will take part in the challenge and will split into two groups.

The first group will set off next Friday with a baton.

When they have climbed the three peaks - Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough - the baton will be passed to the other team who will complete the walk in reverse.

Rosemarie said: "I am also hoping to host a charity evening later in the year for the York Breast Cancer Unit.

"I realise we are very lucky to have such a dedicated team of people both here in York and in Leeds and feel that they deserve some recognition."
