ONCE again, York has road works. Moor Lane is closed for resurfacing between 9.15am and 3.30pm each day, and when they open the road in the evening, drivers are faced with rough surfaces, raised manhole covers and ramps.
Not that I am complaining.
This must be the first time in ages I have not been overtaken or tailgated in a 30mph zone.
As fellow drivers are more concerned with causing damage to their car, they drive slowly and carefully.
Could this be the new alternative for road safety measures? Think of the money saved.
No need for resurfacing, speed bumps, flashing signs and speed cameras - just make the road surface rough and they'll all soon slow down. Normal service, no doubt, will soon be resumed.
