FULFORD Nursing Home has been nominated and awarded a Healthwatch York Making a Difference award recognising the staff team for the second year running.

The small family-owned and independently managed 28-bed home that prides itself on its ethos 'your family, our friend' was nominated by someone whose mum received care at Fulford.

Business manager Liz Hancock said: "We heard at the awards that the mums' test means we should all offer care fit for our own mums. So it was poignant to know we pass that test.

"The staff at the nursing home are thrilled to receive this recognition. It is a total team effort working with every resident and their families to deliver the very best in person centred care. We believe in people not patients and are looking forward to making it three in a row in 2018."

The public nominate through Healthwatch York’s Feedback Centre.
