FOUL weather again disrupted the York and District Junior Cricket Association programme with no matches played in the Hirepoint U15 League and just two completed in Hirepoint U13 League.

So in the U15s Acomb have qualified for the play-offs from the west zone with Heworth and Bolton Percy playing for the other place. In the east zone, York A' are in pole position with Woodhouse Grange or Stillington vying for the other spot.

The U13 league have one round of matches left and Selby, York A' and Sheriff Hutton Bridge lead their respective sections.

Heworth will meet Londesborough Park in the rearranged President's Cup final and in the Hirepoint U13 Cup final, while Sheriff Hutton Bridge were today (SAT) playing Heworth at Woodhouse Grange CC.

Sheriff Hutton Bridge had an eight-wicket win over Stamford Bridge. Jordon Gross, with 3-3, reduced Stamford to 41-8 and Tom Platt struck a fine 27 to take them to the final.

Heworth had a 25-run victory over Bishopthorpe.

The Hirepoint U13 Plate final has been put back to Sunday, July 22 because of the fixture backlog.

Selby maintained their push for an U11 League west zone play-off place with a narrow win at home to Bishopthorpe. J Rich took 2-5 for Selby, whilst the visitors' Jacob Green top-scored with 13.

East zone leaders Sheriff Hutton Bridge eked out a narrow win at Londesborough Park.

Only six wickets fell in the whole game as both sets of bowlers and fielders kept things tight. Only Bridge's Matty Day (10) got into double figures.

As the last couple of U9 league rounds draw near, four teams are locked together at the top of the west zone.

After comfortably beating Wheldrake, Heworth then lost at home to Pocklington and at York B'.

Heworth's James Wood (23), Lawrence Atkin (17), Matty Fairburn (14) and Louis Brown (13) were in the runs against Wheldrake.

For visiting Pocklington, Ben Shingles (19), Jonte Atkinson (15) and Ben Potter (10) batted well and bowler Joe Shingles took 2-4 as Pocklington won.

It was much tighter at Clifton Park, where a mere two runs separated York B' and Heworth.

Although Heworth scored more runs they lost six wickets compared to York who did not lose a single wicket. For York A' Martin (10 and 1-5) did well but it was six-year-old Oran White with 2-7 who starred. James Wood (12) and Matty Fairburn (10) kept Heworth in the game.

Pocklington went to the top with a home win against Osbaldwick.

T Loten scored 17 but J Atkinson with 23 and 2-6 was the match-winner. For Osbaldwick James Hattee hit 10, Tom Hannan took 2-12 and J Snowden 2-2.

Final round games York B' v Pocklington and Heworth v Osbaldwick will decide the top two.

York A' took a large step towards winning the east zone as they maintained their unbeaten record against Dunnington A' at Common Road.

J Pottage (14) and C Burdass (13) led the way for York, while Spofforth (11) was Dunnington's leading batsman. So far in five games York's batsmen have lost only 13 wickets while their bowlers have taken 45 opposition scalps.
