IT HAS been a super year for a super company - and it's not over yet.

Superbreak, the 24-year-old firm which employs 275 people on two storeys in the Ryedale Building, in Piccadilly, York, has become the market leader in the provision of UK short breaks for more than 2.5 million customers per year.

Now, as the Plc is capitalised at more than £400 million on the London Stock Exchange, and with interim results showing turnover soaring by 11 per cent, it is poised to move in December to offices being built on the former Transco site, at Heworth Green.

It is pitching for both the Large Business Of The Year and Growth Business Of The Year titles in The Press Business Awards 2007.

Its rise has been meteoric since it launched in 1983. Today, it has more than 5,000 hotel partnerships and links with 25 hotels in York and a further 50 in North Yorkshire generate a turnover of £122.7 million.
