TECHNOLOGY means business for David and Lisa Fieldsend, whose Selby IT consultancy company punches way above its weight.

With their Fieldsend Enterprises Ltd exceeding its latest annual sales target by more than 15 per cent, and profit margin by 20 per cent, it is hardly surprising that the couple are pitching to win both the Small Business Of The Year and Science And Technology Business Of The Year categories of The Press Business Awards.

The couple started the business six years ago, and now employ four staff at their headquarters in Vivars Way, Canal Road, to offer in-depth advice to small or medium-sized businesses on IT requirements.

They build and supply their own hardware, and use their own bespoke software package, Blue-Logic, which offers a tailored web-integrated stock control system.

Clients include MDT Clasics Ltd, the world's largest classical CD mail order company, and Pocklington Boiler Service, whose entire IT and stock control was changed by Fieldsend Enterprises.
