EMERGENCY services were called out to reports of a man in the River Ouse in York yesterday.
Police, firefighters and an ambulance crew were called to the Ouse near Lendal Bridge at about 7.30pm.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: "Along with other emergency services, police were called to the River Ouse by Lendal Bridge at around 7.30pm last night following concerns about a man's safety.
"The man left the water after emergency services arrived and was given the relevant support."
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service added: "On arrival [of fire crews] the male had been removed from the river."
