Yellow Yorkshire Day will be celebrated at The Swan Pub in Sherburn in Elmet this Friday (July 7), to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
A disco will start the proceedings at 7pm, with an auction organised by retired auctioneer Malcolm Dowson, to be held from 9pm.
Among the lots to go under the hammer are a York Racecourse family day pass, a handmade double-size patchwork bed throw which won an award in a local competition, and a team photo from the Leeds Rhino’s coach Barrie McDermott’s testimonial match, signed by the team, an Elland Road street plaque signed by Leeds United team members, a bottle of commemorative wine from York Minster together with signed items from Jessica Ennis-Hill, Chris Eubank and two limited edition signed prints of paintings by wildlife artist Richard Fuller.
A flight over Yorkshire from Sherburn Aero Club is also on offer, along with two hours’ clay pigeon shooting at Park Lodge near Goole, tickets for a group of 20 people to visit the skating rink at Squire’s Café near Sherburn, and a golfing day for four at Scalm Park and more.
Everyone attending is asked to wear something yellow for this event, with all proceeds going to the lifesaving charity.
