THE next speaker at the Northallerton and District Local History Society will be family and local historia Gillian Waters.
Gillian, who teaches at the University of York’s Centre for Lifelong Learning, will be talking about William the Conqueror’s “Harrying of the North” in 1069.
The meeting will start at 7pm on Tuesday, July 11, at the Sacred Heart Church Hall on Thirsk Road in Northallerton where parking is limited. Non-members are welcome, admission costs £3 or is free for anyone in fulltime education.
