BUILDERS have started work on enlarging a small village near Selby.
Monk Fryston has 15 listed buildings and a conservation area which covers most of its built up area.
Leeds based Gregory Projects (Residential) have begun constructing houses on Abbeystone Way, on the outskirts of the village.
The company, which is part of Gregory Property Group, is building nine family houses, mostly out of limestone.
Four will be town houses and five detached houses.
They are expected to fetch prices of between £250,000 and £380,000.
The houses are expected to be finished by September.
