A COLLECTION held during a picnic in the park at York’s Glen Gardens raised £376 for the foundation set up in memory of murdered MP Jo Cox.
Keith Wood, a member of the Friends of Glen Gardens, said it organised the event in Heworth in warm sunshine on Sunday afternoon.
He said more than 200 people attended the picnic, including the Lord Mayor of York, Cllr Barbara Boyce.
A foundation was set up in memory of Labour’s Batley and Spen MP Jo Cox by friends and family last year after she was murdered last June, which has since been granted charitable status.
