SCORES of supporters of York Pride have held hands at Clifford's Tower this evening.
The flash-mob style event was aimed at reinforcing the theme of this year's York Pride march on Saturday June 10, ' 'Hold Hands with Pride.'
"The theme intends to raise awareness for LGBT rights and equality by demonstrating how the simple act of holding a loved one's hand in public can be intimidating and the source of scrutiny for LGBT individuals," said a spokesman.
"Our aim is to shed light on the difficulty LGBT+ individuals face when deciding whether they feel comfortable enough to hold their partner’s hand in public."
