COFFEE lovers have a new place to meet with the launch of Bean on the Green in Heworth.
Run by brother and sister, Sam and Beatrice Wright, the coffee house on East Parade officially opens on Monday, but will be welcoming people tomorrow from 10am to 3pm for free coffee and cake, with donations invited for Parkinson’s UK.
Beatrice, 36, said, once open for business, they would be serving Lavazza coffee, with cakes and simple, tasty food in a comfortable environment, with a child-friendly chill-out room, with books and a big chalkboard.
“This is something I’ve wanted to do but premises don’t come up here very often,” she said. “We’re very excited. There’s the Post Office, Co-Op, the park and bowling green so a big variety of custom. I am very positive about it.”
