VOTERS in York can now see the final list of candidates they will have to chose from on June 8.
Nominations officially closed at 4pm today, and final lists now reveal that UKIP is not fielding a candidate in either York constituency.
Judith Morris, the York branch chairman, said they were endorsing Conservative candidates in both, and had decided to "put city and country before party" and back the Tory candidates who would support Theresa May's Brexit plans.
However, the party is fielding a candidate in Selby and Ainsty, where he will be standing against Brexit-supporting Conservative incumbent Nigel Adams.
Mrs Morris admitted that in standing against a pro-Brexit Conservative MP their logic did not add up, but said UKIP's Selby candidate Tony Pycroft was enthusiastic about standing.
In total three candidates will be standing in York Central - Labour's Rachael Maskell, the Conservative's Ed Young, and Liberal Democrat Nick Love.
York Outer has four candidates - Conservative Julian Sturdy, Lib Dem James Blanchard, Labour's Luke Charters-Reid, and the Green party's Bethan Vincent.
In Selby and Ainsty there will be four candidates - Conservative Nigel Adams, Labour's David Bowgett, the Lib Dem's Callum Delhoy and UKIP's Tony Pycroft,
