I WAS interested to read the comments of Graham Titchener, parking services manager, City of York Council, that vehicles parked on yellow lines “can impede and obstruct traffic” and “could block the line of sight for other vehicles which could result in an accident” (The Press, April 20).
He did not mention the risks to pedestrians, however I am sure these were implied in his comments.
Mr Titchener and his team will find numerous examples every day of the week of delivery vehicles illegally parked, causing obstructions to pedestrians and vehicles, and impeding sight lines on city centre streets - Gillygate, High Petergate, Low Petergate, Fossgate et al.
I look forward to the parking regulations in the city centre streets being consistently enforced with the same vigour as we have seen lately in Percy’s Lane.
