SILENT films are coming to York’s National Centre for Early Music (NCEM) as the city takes part in the Yorkshire Silent Film Festival.

The venue will host two screenings as part of the festival which runs across the county from Friday, May 5 until Wednesday, May 31.

On Sunday, May 14 at 4pm the NCEM will host a screening of Tall Tales and Incredible Journeys; and at 6.30pm it will show The Lodger.

The 2017 festival will also visit Halifax, Hebden Bridge, Holmfirth, Huddersfield, Hull, Leeds, Leyburn, Ossett, Saltburn by the Sea, Scarborough, Sheffield, Settle, Thirsk and York. Some of Yorkshire’s most historic and beautiful cinemas are taking part, including Leeds’ Hyde Park Picture House, Sheffield’s Abbeydale Picture House, Thirsk’s Ritz and Hebden Bridge Picture House.
