PARK & Ride fares are going up in York from the end of this month.
From Sunday, March 26 ad adult return will go up from £2.80 to £2.90, and day tickets bought in multiples will go up from £2.50 to £2.60.
Adult weekly tickets will go up by 40p to £11.60; adult monthly tickets from £44 to £46.40; and adult annual tickets from £440 to £464.
The council said the increases were in line with inflation and earnings data, and director of economy and place Neil Ferris said: “The fare increase will help to meet the increased operational costs of running the Park & Ride and enable customers to continue enjoying this high quality service.”
Bus company First York’s managing director Marc Bichtemann encouraged people who usually buy single day tickets from the driver to think about getting a York by bus smart card instead, as they offers packs of five, 10 or 20 day return tickets which work out cheaper.
