RESIDENTS in Selby can find out more about saving money and reducing food waste this month.
As part of Selby District Council's Don't Be A Waster - Reduce Reuse Respect campaign, the authority has teamed up with York and North Yorkshire Waste Partnership to teach residents how to make the most of their leftovers.
A roadshow and cookery demonstration will be held at Selby Market on Monday, February 20, with chef Nigel Brown sharing his recipes and tips.
Cllr Richard Musgrave, executive member and lead councillor with responsibility for housing, leisure, health and culture, said: "Wasting food and drink is also a waste of money.
"And the food and drink we throw away usually ends up in landfill, where it produces gasses that are damaging to the environment. It’s in all our interests to be smart about our food waste."
