A RECORD year has led to a fresh call for volunteers at a York museum.
The Yorkshire Air Museum said it has had a record number of top rated reviews on Trip Advisor, and its popularity means more volunteers are needed to help and welcome visitors this year.
Harry Welsh, museum guide, said knowledge of aviation was not a requirement for some areas of the museum.
He said: “I served in the Royal Air Force for many years, but a lot of our volunteer guides and stewards have no military background at all. In fact, while we welcome ex-military personnel, the most important skill that our guides have is communicating with visitors and helping people.”
