The westbound carriageway of the A64 had to be closed temporarily this afternoon after a crash.
The collision, involving one vehicle, happened on the eastern edge of York near the Hopgrove roundabout.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "The vehicle skidded on something on the road. A barrier was damaged.
"Police closed the westbound carriageway shortly while the vehicle was taken off the road and into a layby.
"Nobody was injured."
There has also been a collision involving two vehicles on the A1237 York outer ring road near New Earswick today.
A police spokesperson said: "Nobody was injured and there were no road closures."
Police were called to both crashes at about 2pm.
