Earlier this year, The Press was given access to the roof of St Denys Church in Walmgate.
Public access is very rare indeed, so you probably won't have seen these views of York before.
The 13 pictures above were all taken by our photographer Frank Dwyer. Enjoy.
We also found a couple of older images from the same spot, and present these two "then and now" images. The older shot of Clifford's Tower was from 1970, and the street scene looking towards Rowntree Wharf was taken in 1975.
