THE achievements of students at a North Yorkshire school were celebrated at an annual awards evening.
Barlby High School, near Selby, held its Celebrating Success Evening recently, which saw the class of of 2016 presented with their GCSE certificates along with some special awards.
Deputy headteacher Fiona Lee kicked off proceedings with special guest, ex-England rugby league star Paul Broadbent, presenting the awards.
Carol Faulkner, senior leadership PA at the school, said: "The evening was very well attended and it was a delight to see lots of our former students returning to receive their certificates."
Former students who were awarded accolades on the evening include Anneliese Brooks, who picked up the school's Communication Award.
Alexander Levett and Alice Robinson received the school's Award for Sport, while Harvey Baxter won School Governors’ Award for Outstanding Contribution.
