YORK Civic Trust will hold its annual meeting at the National Centre for Early Music at 6.30pm tomorrow night.
The last year has been a busy one for anyone interested in York’s history, heritage or future development.There’s been progress on a local plan, proposals to refurbish Stonebow House, the reopening of the Theatre Royal and much, much more.
The Civic Trust has had its say on all these things, as well as pursuing its own programme of creating ‘pocket parks’ in York, crowdfunding for refurbishment of the Rigg Monument and keeping a watchful eye on new planning applications.
“This has been a really busy year for the Civic Trust, and the AGM is a chance for members to keep up with all the exciting things we have been getting up to,” said chief executive David Fraser. “We hope as many members as possible will come along.”
The meeting will also see the announcement of this year’s Lord Mayor’s Award for service to the heritage of York, and will include an illustrated talk by Philip Thake of the York Conservation Trust on the care of historic buildings in York.
