VOLUNTEERS and support staff from community groups in Selby can sign up for free training to teach others how to use the internet.
The Digital Neighbours scheme gives volunteers the skills and confidence to teach others to access social media, price comparison and local government websites, online shopping or retail platforms.
Organisers are looking for volunteers from community groups or charities, for example, youth groups, guides or scouts.
Two free training sessions will take place on October 13 and 20, and will offer access to grant funding of up to £4,000 from North Yorkshire County Council’s Stronger Communities for digital community projects.
Applications open on November 1. To find out more email selby.adultlearning@northyorks.gov.uk
