FEW areas of York city centre have been as radically changed in recent decades as the area around Skeldergate and Queen's Staith.
It was once the bustling heart of York's riverside industry. But today warehouses have been replaced by hotels and apartments and offices and, in nearby Bridge Street, many of the familiar shops have gone, with bars and restaurants taking the place of many.
All these photos were taken in Bridge Street, Skeldergate, Queen's Staith or Ouse Bridge.
