TWO pupils who helped raise money for their York school’s garden have had two wheelbarrows named after them.
Millie Sadler and Jessica Potter have just finished their final year at Headlands Primary School in Haxby and are now moving on to secondary school.
They spent a lot of time during Year Six fundraising through bake sales to support the school garden that they had enjoyed using over the years, said outdoor learning specialist Andy Mulholland.
He said he surprised the girls with the barrows during one of the last assemblies of the year.
“While I am never short of pupil helpers for outdoor activities at Headlands, Millie and Jess have always got involved and this year they surpassed themselves with their fundraising efforts,” said Mr Mulholland.
“I thought this would be a brilliant way to say a big thank you.”
