MORE than £11,000 has been raised to help the victims of the devastating floods in Tadcaster last winter.
Tadcaster Flood Support and Fundraising Group member Gillian Hainsworth has sold 2,000 Yorkshire Rose pins which were donated to her by Adrian Buckley, founder of Buckley London, a costume jewellery manufacturing business.
He sent her the pins to help raise much-needed funds for Tadcaster residents and businesses affected by the floods.
The sale of the pins was launched at a fundraising concert hosted by the Tadcaster Grammar School Big Band.
The event raised £3,100 for the Tadcaster flood support group, and the pin sales raised a further £8,604 for the group. Mrs Hainsworth said: “It is heart-warming to see, first hand, where this money is going and how this is making such a difference to residents and businesses.”
