SO A P Cox (Letters, July 18) says I didn’t mention David Cameron’s pre-election promises. Very true.

Having being eligible to vote in 15 general elections and witnessed enough Tory porkies to fill a tome Leo Tolstoy would of been proud of, I stopped believing in fairy stories many decades ago.

I gather Mr Cox has had the opportunity to vote in 12 elections and lived through 28 years of Tory control.

I find it incredible after this he was so naïve as to believe a single word Cameron said in 2015, especially of the lies the Tories spun that closed York Carriageworks.

What a stroke of genius it is appointing a Foreign Secretary of State who has deeply offended Obama, next President Clinton, Putin, the entire Papua New Guinea nation, the city of Liverpool, the Turkish president and the entire EU by likening their vision to Hitler’s, plus no doubt many others.

This bloke will turn Great Britain into a leper colony.

Well, you wanted Britain to stand on its own.
