THIS summer sees the launch of a new walking tour of York with a tasty twist.
Guides from York’s Chocolate Story will be hosting walking tours of the city, with a focus on its chocolate history.
Guests will learn facts about chocolate heritage with an opportunity to sample treats from York’s three big confectionary names: Rowntree’s, Terry’s and Craven’s along the way.
Destinations include St Helen’s Square and the Terry’s shop - which some guests may be surprised to learn has a ballroom with a fully sprung floor- and Lady Peckett’s Yard, where a sweet factory once stood over a Viking village.
The walking tours will be running twice a day at 1pm and 3pm from July 28 to September 4 and must be pre-booked by calling 01904 527765 or by visiting York’s Chocolate Story.
