I WANT to shout from the rooftops my deep sense of gratitude, and heartfelt thanks, for the seven years of work that Fishergate Primary School has done with my son, Finn Sainty.
He has moderate learning difficulties, and is moving on to secondary school in September.
Those TAs and teachers at Fishergate who work closely with Finn have a wonderful, open-minded, “why shouldn’t he try it” attitude with him, which has allowed him to achieve things we thought not possible.
Outside of the family environment, they have given him the best possible start in life. And I want that recognised.
In particular, many thanks to Jo Heyes, Lisa Solanki, Pete Kelly, Erica Deverall, Anne Cole, Claire Stenson, every class teacher he has had (currently Josh Burnell and Dani Rees), and everyone else involved with him for their patience, love and determination.
And to give a fuller picture of Fishergate, it is also brilliant for our middle son, Euan, who is really capable at learning; the school’s ethos is to genuinely help every single child achieve their potential, wherever that lies.
So, thank you Fishergate. God bless you.
