HERON Foods in York city-centre will shut down this Saturday, the company has confirmed.
The budget food retailer is moving out of its premises in Stonebow House, ahead of the large redevelopment of the building.
Staff have said a new branch will open in Burton Stone Lane in Clifton, but not until September. The company are understood to be looking at the old Corner House pub site.
Heron Foods had moved into the building after Halifax bank closed its branch there in 2008.
